Bienvenue,

Most recently I have been working at the widely known RTS studio, Petroglyph Games, making numerous particle and mesh effects using the companies own proprietary engine. I've had the great opportunity to have worked on two game titles. The first being the Trion's huge MMORTS, End of Nations. Working with a large publisher was a great experience. And the second being a WW2 "MOTA" called, "Victory". While working on "Victory", I had a title change to lead artist and senior visual effects artist. It's was a great opportunity for personal growth and to lead a fantastic art team .

 VICTORY!

Below are two videos that show in great detail the game play and style of Victory. Please take a moment and watch them both. If you'd like to see more information about the art design click on this Petroglyph link or the tab at the top of the page.

The Last video is a game pitch trailer that the studio used as the main video on kickstarter. Again, I edited and worked closely with members of the art staff to capture game footage that would grab the attention of viewers looking at our page. I also did a number of motion graphic work to transition scenes and introduce game units.

Below is a video called “Meet the team”. We wanted to introduce some members of our staff on Victory to the public and set out to create a video that would do just that. I had the pleasure of writing, editing and directing this video, while also getting a chance to work with our studio photographer, Joel Rivera.

 End of Nations

Below is a link to see some of the game footage, and most importantly, the effects, captured by Trion. Trion has yet to release the game so I am limited to the amount of content that I am able to show. More material to come shortly...

LEGO/Netdevil

Below, is a sample of the visual effects work I have done in the past for the PC game "LEGO Universe". I have more material on the LEGO Work Page at the top of the navigation bar. There you can view more video material, still captures, prototype material and texture work.

Misc. VFX

This VFX reel contains work I had done in college and for other freelance clients. While I have spent most of my professional career working with video games and particle systems. I still have strong presence with cinema, motion graphics, composting and graphic design. Look under my Personal Work page to see more video projects and graphic art.

This video is from a studio's art test I did in the early part of 2012.

This was a quick project using Maya's particle system to create smoke coming from a jack pack. Using custom MEL scripts I was able to control the rate, speed, turbulence, shadow and glows.

This video is a quick example of a muzzle blast from a gun. I animated the gun firing and then exported the muzzle flash from the particle system FORK. I used an old texture from a previous project. I think that the texture could use a bit more variance and less stylizing to achieve a more realistic look. I then composited some bullet casing flying out of the chamber using a particle system in After Effects.
